Biography
Monica S. Castelhano is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology at Queen's University. She received a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2000 and a MA and PhD in Psychology (cognitive psychology) from Michigan State University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Dr. Castelhano is interested in examining the cognitive and neural processes governing the understanding of complex visual information (e.g., real-world scenes), the influence of prior knowledge and performance across different task types. Dr. Castelhano's research is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, and the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation.

Graduate Student Positions
There are two openings in the lab starting at the MSc or PhD level. Students interested in pursuing graduate studies can apply either to the Department of Psychology graduate program (Brain, Behaviour & Cognitive Science) or to the Centre for Neuroscience Studies graduate program. Those with a background in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Computer Science are encouraged to apply.
