CONCH LAB

Graham Raynor

My current research interests are in the cognitive processes that transform the sensation of hearing into a complex auditory perceptual world. Currently I am working on two lines of investigation:
  1. How the perceptual organization of distinct auditory objects is modulated by higher cognitive functions, e.g. attention and voluntary effort
  2. How deterioration of the peripheral auditory system and higher cognitive functions differentially contribute to age-related hearing loss Beyond these interests, I am always fascinated by research in language acquisition, evolutionary psychology, and the computational modelling of perception, decision-making, and basic neural mechanics.
